Animal Attendant R_00042398: To assist in caring for sea turtles, marine birds, and birds of prey at the Amos Rehabilitation Keep (ARK) at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute (MSI). Responsibilities include feeding the animals, cleaning their enclosures and tanks, record keeping, and rescuing or receiving animals when necessary. Animal Attendants work directly with the ARK’s Coordinator and other ARK staff to provide daily care and rehabilitation for a variety of injured or orphaned species, following established protocols and treatment plans under the supervision of the ARK Coordinator or veterinarians.
Education Coordinator R_00041811: The purpose of this position is that the Education Coordinator (EC) support the Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve (Reserve) and the University of Texas Marine Science Institute (UTMSI) by developing, coordinating, and delivering environmental education programs and curriculum for K–12 students, the public, and community audiences. This position plays a key role in creating innovative, standards-aligned programming, and implementing high-quality, hands-on learning experiences both onsite and in the field. The EC supervises the education specialists, aquarists, interns and volunteers associated with the education program.

Postdoctoral Fellow R_00035734: Postdoc research will be focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying bioturbation and/or on characterizing the impacts of infauna on deep sea sediment stability. Responsibilities may involve lab experiments and field work on sediments and burrowing animals.
Postdoctoral Fellow R_00038665:This Postdoctoral Fellow position will be part of the Coastal Carbon Cycle Laboratory of the Marine Science Institute at the University of Texas at Austin located in Port Aransas, Texas. The initial appointment is set for one year, renewal is subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Postdoctoral Fellow R_00038681: A postdoctoral researcher position is available to work with Dr. Ken Dunton at The University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, TX, starting August 2025 (negotiable). Research in the Dunton lab is broadly focused in estuarine ecology, with a strong emphasis on marine vegetation, from subtropical marshes and seagrasses to High Arctic kelp, with strong connections to interdisciplinary studies (see: https://marinescience.utexas.edu/directory/kenneth-dunton). The research program associated with this postdoctoral position is specifically focused on a coast-wide survey of seagrass distribution along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Research Scientist Associate III R_00036766: The successful candidate will be involved in dynamic research activities in the research lab of Dr. Zhanfei Liu. The candidate will also have the freedom to develop their own research projects. The research in Liu Lab focuses on understanding sources, fates and transformation of natural and anthropogenic organic matter, such as dissolved and particulate organic matter, petroleum hydrocarbons, and micro- and nanoplastics.
Scientific Project Manager R_00042058: We seek a highly organized and motivated Scientific Project Manager to oversee, manage, and coordinate a multidisciplinary collaborative research project executed out of the Texas Gulf Coast Research Center at UTMSI. The successful candidate will serve as a central point of contact between researchers, collaborators, and stakeholders, ensuring project implementation, coordination of field logistical support, and timely completion of deliverables aligned with scientific goals.
Training & Engagement Program Coordinator R_00041399: To perform advanced program administration and coordination (develop, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate) of the Coastal Training Program. Responsible for all administrative, design, promotional, and implementation elements of primary programs, exercising independent judgment and authority as required, and within scope of responsibility.
