Long-Term Housing
For graduate students, postdocs and visiting scholars/scientists, the department and UTMSI have furnished 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom housing facilities on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to:
- graduate students,
- postdocs, and
- visiting students/scientists.
Pets are allowed in the Wilson Cottage Complex. The Beach Street Apartments do not allow pets. All units are rented furnished unless it's is a Wilson Unit with a pet. We cannot store personal furnishings. To inquire about availability, please email msi-admin@utlists.utexas.edu.
The Wilson Cottage Complex
730 COTTER STREET, PORT ARANSAS, TX 78373
The Wilson Cottage Complex is directly across the street from the MSI main campus. Wilson 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 cottages each have two bedrooms (Unit A and B) with a shared bathroom. In addition to the cottages, there is also a house with three separate units of one-bedroom and two two-bedroom units. This complex allows pets with a rental agreement. The Beach Street Apartment Complex
700 BEACH STREET, PORT ARANSAS, TX 78373
The Beach Street Apartment Complex is only a few blocks from the MSI Main Campus. All units are on the second and third floors. Beach Street 201 and 301 are two-bedroom apartments. Beach Street 212 and 312 are two-bedroom apartments with a study that could also be used as a small bedroom. Beach Street 227, 242, 327, and 342 are one-bedroom apartments. Dormitory D has six bedrooms, a bunkroom, a kitchen, and a separate two-bedroom apartment. All rooms are furnished.
Estuarine Research Center Dormitory

The Estuarine Research Center (ERC) Dormitory has space for a maximum capacity of 39 singles and 5 doubles. This dormitory also includes a shared lounge, kitchen, laundry, and separate apartment. All rooms are furnished.
