The schedule includes a silent mindfulness retreat to encourage renewal and stress reduction, an EAP 101 session outlining available wellness and mental health benefits, and optional one-on-one counseling appointments. Silent Mindfulness Retreat: Blossoming Into Spring
Monday, March 30th
10am-12noon
Seminar Room 2.314 in the Estuarine Research Center
Light breakfast will be provided for registered attendees. Limited spots available.
Spring is a time to leverage the introspection of Winter, let go of what no longer serves us, and plant new intentions to mindfully cultivate meaningful experiences to come.
This 2 hour mindfulness workshop includes a gentle hatha yoga practice appropriate for all levels and ability, breathwork, journaling, walking meditation, sound healing and guided visualization. We practice intentional silence during this session to enjoy the stress reducing benefits that pausing and reflecting can bring to our body and being.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats, though a limited number will be available if needed.
The retreat will be facilitated by Geeti Shirazi Mahajan, LCSW-S, one of the counselors at the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Geeti is also certified as a Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT).

This session provides a practical overview of HealthPoint Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Wellness programs, plus key UT Select BCBS insurance benefits that support mental health and overall well-being.
We’ll walk through the five dimensions of well-being, highlighting what's available: free and confidential short-term counseling, crisis support, support groups, workshops, financial and preventive health programming, Wellness Time Off, and mental health options through our insurance. We’ll also cover resources for managers and supervisors, as well as support after critical incidents or a loss on a team.
Whether you’re seeking short-term support, ongoing care, help with benefits, or ways to invest in your well-being, this session will help you understand your options and how to get started.
This session is open to all employees. EAP services are available to benefits-eligible employees, retirees, and their adult dependents. Wellness programs are available to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff.
