The UTMSI Library serves as a specialized resource hub supporting the institute’s teaching, research, and outreach missions. Located in Port Aransas, the library provides access to a focused collection of marine science literature, journals, and reference materials that support undergraduate and graduate education as well as faculty and visiting researcher projects. Designed to foster quiet study and scholarly collaboration, the library offers an essential space for advancing knowledge of coastal and ocean environments.
Resources
The UTMSI Library provides workspace resources to support the preparation of publications and other scholarly work by the UTMSI scientific community. Two open-use computer workstations are available in Office ERC 2.252C, including one PC and one Mac. These workstations are equipped with: R, Grammarly, Adobe Creative Cloud, and ArcGIS (PC only). In addition, three library carrels are equipped with necessary peripherals (computer monitors, wireless keyboard and mice) that are available for use by students, faculty, and staff. These resources are intended to facilitate research, data analysis, writing, and publication preparation.
Questions about library resources can be addressed to Janelle Hedstrom, Earth Sciences Librarian, Head of the STEM & Social Sciences Engagement Team.
Currently, all materials must be used while in the library.
