Dr. Po-Tsan Ku Dr. Ku has over a decade of experience in career coaching for graduate students and postdocs, offering guidance on career exploration, job searches, and professional development. His expertise includes networking, recruitment events, and employer relations. With a background in biotech marketing and an academic foundation in cell and developmental biology, he provides insightful perspectives for those interested in industry careers.
Dr. Scott Burghart Dr. Burghart is a biological oceanographer whose research spans tropical to polar systems, focusing on plankton and micronekton assemblages. As an administrator in graduate education at UT Austin, he works on initiatives aimed at enhancing graduate student experiences, implementing fellowships, and fostering an inclusive academic environment.
Dr. Lauren Webb Dr. Webb is a professor of chemistry and the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies in CNS. Her research explores the interactions and self-assembly of biological macromolecules. During her visit, she looks forward to connecting with faculty, discussing their research, and exploring potential collaborations. She is also interested in engaging with students over lunch to hear their perspectives and experiences.
Dr. Michelle Gaston Dr. Gaston is the Assistant Director of Graduate Student Development at UT’s Center for Teaching and Learning. She supports graduate students in developing their teaching skills and preparing for careers both within and beyond academia. She has previously hosted workshops on teaching statements, course design, and mentoring, and she may offer similar sessions during this visit.
