Description
This hands-on, community-oriented workshop is geared toward the general public and will raise awareness about the threat invasive species pose to local biodiversity and ecosystem resilience. Learn how to recognize high-priority invasive plants—including Brazilian pepper tree, guinea grass, Johnson grass, and Chinese tallow—as well as insects and pests that may impact native habitats. Attendees will have the opportunity to examine pressed plant samples and ask questions about treatment options and responsible landscaping practices. Whether you're a homeowner, gardener, student, or just curious about local ecology, this workshop will help you understand how your choices can support healthier, more biodiverse landscapes—critical for weathering climate change and maintaining the natural character of our island and coast.
RSVPs are required and will be available as the event date approaches. Please check back for updates.
