UT Austin seeks an innovative scholar whose work advances fundamental or applied shellfish biology. Relevant areas include physiology, functional biology, ecology and evolution, reproduction and development, disease and host-pathogen interactions, fisheries science, and mariculture
The successful candidate will establish an internationally recognized, externally funded research program; teach and mentor at the graduate and undergraduate levels; and contribute to departmental service.

o New oyster mariculture facility supporting broodstock husbandry, spawning, larval rearing and spat production
o Seawater-supplied laboratories, analytical core facilities and research vessels

QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in marine science, biology, fisheries science or a closely related field by appointment; postdoctoral or equivalent research experience; and demonstrated potential or an established record in research funding, teaching and mentorship.
